Project Description
Commonwealth Secondary School Biodiversity Discovery — Kiosk Content Management System
This interactive, touch-enabled application is designed to educate students on biodiversity. It offers an engaging learning experience where students can explore various ecosystems – marine, rainforest, freshwater, and wetland—through photos, and videos.
A key feature of the application is its ability to integrate real-life environments with digital content, enhancing the learning experience with a more immersive approach. Additionally, students can share their thoughts and reflections within the application, encouraging collaboration and communication with their peers.
Technology: This application features a student-facing front end and a content management system (CMS) for administrators. Users can create and customize multiple pages to display text descriptions, image galleries, and video collections. Each gallery comes with pre-designed templates to simplify the data entry process. All media content is showcased in true HD quality, ensuring a visually rich experience.
Platform: Designed as a web-based application, it runs seamlessly on kiosks with an integrated server hosted within the kiosk itself. The system is built for fully autonomous operation, handling everything from automatic startup in the morning to graceful shutdown in the evening for both PCs and TVs, making it a highly energy-efficient solution. For effortless remote management, the CMS is accessible via a DDNS-enabled router, allowing administrators to update content conveniently from any location.
Kiosk & Mural Design: We collaborate with top environmental art and design companies to provide tailored, unique designs for every client.
We provided comprehensive user training and detailed manuals as part of the project to ensure every admin gained a thorough understanding of the system. This empowered them to confidently update content at any time with ease.
